Cameroonian PLHIV network: RéCAP+
Summary
The Cameroonian Network of Organisations of People Living with HIV (RéCAP+) was created in August 2000 by three organisations of people living with the HIV: AFSU (Yaounde), AFASO (Yaounde), and SUNAIDS (Douala), following a meeting of the African Network of People living with HIV (NAP+) held in Douala, Cameroon.

Mission and Vision
RéCAP+’s vision is to be at the center of the response to HIV in Cameroon. RéCAP+ seeks to lead its network in a professional and autonomous way, supporting its members and promoting the interests of all people living with HIV in the national AIDS plan.
Current Campaigns
- HIV Leadership through Accountability Programme
- Campaign for the continuum of care
- Campaign for the adoption of a preliminary draft of law on the rights and reponsibilities of people regarding HIV
- Ongoing education/training of PLHIV (more than 4,000 people to date), on various topics such as: Counseling, planning, administrative and financial management, public speaking etc…
- Education on the SRHR of PLHIV
- Implementation of the initiative “ save a life by buying a pin ”, an income-generating activity
- Annual coordination of the candlelight memorial
