Country Selection Criteria

Country Selection Criteria

The programme partners have agreed a selection process for countries to be covered by the programme, factors include consideration to the level of HIV prevalence, presence and capacity of PLHIV networks and Civil Society organizations, potential to influence regionally, commitment from the countries to engage on Human Rights related issues, as well as other specifics.

The selection criteria was reviewed and revised in August 2010 to include specific measurable country data. Short lists are created from the data and regional networks of PLHIV and country Civil Society partners are then consulted to inform the final country selection.

In 2011 and 2012, eight additional countries will be chosen. Of these six countries will be located in Africa (two each from West, East and Southern Africa) and an additional one each from Caribbean/Latin America and Asia/Pacific.
