Tanzania Campaigners Meeting - September 2011
The campaigners meeting was held on 27-29th September 2011 and brought together about 30 civil society organisations from across the country. The aim of the meeting was to develop a greater understanding of the HIV epidemic in Tanzania and develop a coordinated civil society platform. The LTA programme was introduced and the opportunities for evidence informed advocacy, campaigning and lobbying presented.
Ethiopian Campaigners Meeting - February 2010
This workshop, organised by the World AIDS Campaign in collaboration with the Consortium of Christian Relief Development Association, had as its main objective the sharing of Ethiopian and African CSOs’ experience in reaching UA, the sharing of challenges faced and building a greater understanding of the role of CSOs to help reach UA.
Eastern Cape Campaigners Meeting - August 2009
The first campaigners meeting for South Africa took place in the Eastern Cape from 7-9 August 2009. The meeting brought together over 30 campaigners from around the Eastern Cape representing faith, labour, networks of people living with HIV, youth and Men having sex with Men (MSM) and lesbian groups. Top of their agenda was the formation of a grouping of civil society interests to monitor government agency responses to gender based violence and applying pressure for better performance when it so required.
